The only thing I can think to add is the ability to add videos from an iPhone
Best photo app
....that you obviously continue to pour into the app and would give it five stars but for the occasional issue where it will not show anything when opened on my iPhone, (never have this issue on iPad) and its takes either signing out or reinstalling altogether before its starts behaving normally again. Otherwise love the app ...well done and thanks for keeping it current.
Flickr doesnt even load my pictures at all!!!!!!!
Wonderful interface, easy on the eyes, and a platform/user base dedicated to photography that isnt clogged with ads like Instagram .
Theres always an error
This is a good app. I use it in what I would guess is a fairly typical way. Mostly basic features. And, I dont ever have any difficulties. That says a lot to me. Thanks Flickr! Because it is free! Right!!
Close to seven years and 700 of my favorite images -- great fun and a learning experience. This place provides a wealth of inspiration! Loose yourself in it!!
Ive been with Flickr since 2007 and have been pretty happy. Everything needs a little updating, not drastic changes. I kind of miss the little blue and pink dots everyone else hated, especially when viewed from my iPhone cause Im rarely sure an image has rasterized or is just a bad shot. What I really dislike about the app is that if Im looking at someones portfolio and Im a thousand images in, in either their portfolio or faves and I expand an image to see it larger, then scroll to the next several images, when I exit from that last image, back to the thumb nails it resets back to the very beginning of the portfolio. Its really aggravating to have to take the time to scroll back to where I was, in all those little thumbnails thousands of images. The only other issue I have and its not as bad, is that if I can I dont know how to read my Flickr mail from my phone if even possible. It took me the longest time to figure out how to read someones profile. A little tutorial would be nice especially when theres changes made. Placed like this request in the image feed. Aside from all that thanks to the Flickr team for a job well done!
Great app for photography.
The Flickr app is great for viewing photos and commenting on them. Search works very well. Unfortunately, the app is missing the discussion forums and the people, one of the most important features in Groups.
Ive been a pro member for almost a decade, but Im considering retiring my account. I rarely use desktop anymore, almost strictly the app. Except the app is near unusable. I couldnt log in for awhile, I can look at my album list, but cant open any of them, searching for a photo is painful even when I know approx date & unique keywords, plus a host of other brokenness. I just dont use it anymore.
Im pretty much a slacker when it comes to using the app, but every time I visit, Im pleasantly surprised how beautiful it is. Keep up the good work, Flickr!
I like to share publicly some photos for limited times. Having a lock button on the bottom panel around the area of the Shar button and info button would be amazing. Less clicks to get to what we need.
I Love Flickr and this App. Nothing more to say.
The app must switch to the tiled (thumbnail) collage view for the main feed. Its my biggest complaint with the app, and such a simple no brainer to change it. Flickr went the opposite way of Instagram a number of years ago, dumping an irritating new look on us with the expanded contact photos view. I prefer the older desktop versions, and rarely use the app because of this. The new desktop version has a cascading feed for your contacts latest uploads, similar to the app, but with multiple uploads expanded automatically. This is similar to the app where you have to scroll through full view uploads, but choose to expand multiple uploads on the app. I much prefer the older collage/tiled style desktop view for my contacts newest image. Thankfully, Flickr has left the option open on their desktop + website platform by choosing "people" from the drop down menu. That way I can see my contacts latest upload in a tiled view, and expand photos if I want to fav or comment. Unfortunately Im like everyone else and "mobile" more than seated at the desktop interacting. I do love the 1TB storage, which is great for archiving high res-original files. My images also look better on here than Instagram. The only way Ive been able to describe the visual difference is Flickr is like a new t-shirt that is cleaner, vibrant, and thicker feeling compared to Instagram image clarity that is like a stained, bland, and an old dirty rag.
I love this app, it allows me to see other photographers work and get inspiration while sharing mine with the world. Just looking on my homepage is inspiration enough to go shooting!
Im going to between 10,000 and 15,000 images uploaded to Flickr. I mainly work on my desktop; however, when Im out and about and want to show someone in the image, this app is is perfect. Several times per week I find myself using the search function to find a particular image. Even when using a mobile connection, your search function is fast, even though I have a large archive. I do very little "work" in the app. I might change the privacy from private to public, or add a comment, but thats about it. So, as a viewer, working with a large archive. I think the app is perfect.
No more worries about storage. And like this is not enough great tools to keep all nice and neat. Not to mention a cross platform integration - genious!
