The app must switch to the tiled (thumbnail) collage view for the main feed. Its my biggest complaint with the app, and such a simple no brainer to change it. Flickr went the opposite way of Instagram a number of years ago, dumping an irritating new look on us with the expanded contact photos view. I prefer the older desktop versions, and rarely use the app because of this. The new desktop version has a cascading feed for your contacts latest uploads, similar to the app, but with multiple uploads expanded automatically. This is similar to the app where you have to scroll through full view uploads, but choose to expand multiple uploads on the app. I much prefer the older collage/tiled style desktop view for my contacts newest image. Thankfully, Flickr has left the option open on their desktop + website platform by choosing "people" from the drop down menu. That way I can see my contacts latest upload in a tiled view, and expand photos if I want to fav or comment. Unfortunately Im like everyone else and "mobile" more than seated at the desktop interacting. I do love the 1TB storage, which is great for archiving high res-original files. My images also look better on here than Instagram. The only way Ive been able to describe the visual difference is Flickr is like a new t-shirt that is cleaner, vibrant, and thicker feeling compared to Instagram image clarity that is like a stained, bland, and an old dirty rag.
