I had this app for 10+ years and they deleted all but 50 photos. AND IM A PRO MEMBER. Customer service said they can’t do anything because it’s been 30 days. Save your photos then delete this app asap!
The best photo sharing platform out there!
perfect platform for simply sharing and viewing photos with photography professionals and hobbyists
Lots of different types of photography from beginner level to advanced, and professional- Macro, Portrait, Landscape, etc. Flickr provides an excellent way to manage and share your photography. For a fee, high quality printing is available for individual images, or create a magazine or book, all the information is provided.
Excellent picture backup, and an ad free experience for sharing photos
I like the app, but it has some issues. I often get an error has occurred when trying to download my own photos to my phone. I have to clear cache and reopen the app which only works about 30% of the time. The app also doesn’t seem to like when I dive deep into my library. The previews are very low res and sometimes they don’t resolve to the higher res versions.
hope people still use this app
I’ve had this app since 2018 to store my old pictures on. For some reason they have all disappeared and I cannot access them anymore. With no warning of explanation as to why this has happened- I’m truly angered by this
The app is not automatically uploading photos. And does not upload any videos. But the subscription price went up.
Do not use this app unless you are buying the pro version!!! I have been a user of Flickr since 2016. In highschool I uploaded all of my photos onto the app to store them. In 2019, the app sent emails to my old email account saying they were changing my account settings. I didn’t see these emails and even if I had, they were vague and did not clearly communicate that all my photos would be deleted if I didn’t upgrade to the Pro account. I continued to use the app to access old photos without issue up through 2024. Last week when I opened it, all my photos were gone. FLICKR DELETED OVER 15,000 OF MY PHOTOS including the only photos I had with some people who have since passed. I googled the issue and found out Flickr deleted all the photos on accounts not using the Pro version. I emailed the customer support and was told this was not reversible. I am devastated and find this unacceptable. There should have been a pop up on the app saying “upgrade or your photos will be deleted!” With more clear warnings, I would have happily upgraded to Pro in order to not lose my photos but now I can not recommend this app to anyone.
I am pleasantly surprised by the app and have convinced a few folks to use it instead of Instagram - trying to avoid feeding the broligarchy! I appreciate the tiered privacy and lack of mind numbing ads. I also like that their business model is not built on selling data but is subscription based.
I’ve been using Flickr since 2006 when I first became interested in photography at 14 years old. I’ve been a Pro subscriber since 2007 and I will continue to use it until either it shuts down or I meet my end! Even if you aren’t tied into it for 20 years, it’s a good platform to use, even the free account if you’re just trying to showcase a little.
Flicker deleted my photos. They said they were changing terms and sent an email. Without having to acknowledge it they deleted all my memories.
As an early user, I highly recommend Flickr! <3
what’s wrong with your app, it’s so not user friendly … there aren’t even any basic options to do anything—can’t even change/add name? it only shows my email address.
For over 10+ years my images were public and accessible, and now they want me to pay to have access to my old photos lol. Negative 1 star
They deleted all my photos dating back 10years and more!!!!!!! I wasn’t using the account regularly but even when I logged in every month or so, no notification was sent to me that they changed their policies. They could have prompted me to buy their subscription to keep them private but they never did. They just went on and deleted everything!!!!!! All the memories!!!!
Absolutely love this app. It really helps us photographers have a place to store photos and contain archives. Great platform!
The app is fine for browsing through photos. But if you want to look at collections? Not available. Want to edit some of your photo titles or comments in your photos? Cannot do it. Want to search your photo stream for a particular image? Not available. Want to see where on the map your photo is if you have GPS info? Not supported. I have a paid account and thousands of photos. This app is a disappointment.
What’s wrong with you people at Flickr? Genuinely? I had over 20 years worth of photos, some of precious people that are no longer here on earth. You decide that money is more important and delete all of but… what, 50 photos unless I were to subscribe? I would’ve done that if I had any notification this was gonna happen. I didn’t receive any notifications. I’m genuinely sick over this. I’ve lost photos I will never get back because of you. Even if I did subscribe, I can’t get that back, can I? Whoever made these decisions, please know that you are heartless, spineless, and ruthless.
paywall for some basic functions
Awful site! Apparently they decided if you don’t buy a pro membership they will delete all but 50 photos saved. I had over 1,000 memories that are forever gone thanks to Flickr
I love this app and the Flickr platform, but the past few updates make viewing images infuriating and frustrating. Trying to pinch and zoom and view images on a mobile device used to be easy and completely normal, but they changed something and now the images constantly bounce around, behave like elastic, and snap back and fight against me constantly when trying to simply pinch zoom. Why did they break it? It was fine before. Please make it like it used to be where pinching and zooming is normal like everything else

Love the well worn look
Every time I go to my account the app crashes.
Moved over from other social media as I was tired of the crazy algorithm. Really enjoying Flickr - A LOT. I mainly work on iPad and I appreciate that app is great and easy to use. Highly recommend photographies, pro and amateur alike to give Flickr a shot. Signed up for 2 years of pro and this will be a great way for me to organize and share my photos, especially after Apple screwed up the Photos app so bad.
95% of my pics disappeared. App keeps crashing. Now I get a pop up telling me to go Pro. Why? Darn thing doesn’t even work anymore. Is Pro gonna bring my stuff back. Seems like a gamble and I’m gonna roll craps
This app does an amazing job of enabling a great display of photos. If the giant awards in comments were eliminated or reduced in size it would be even better.
I have been using Flickr for a short while now. I use the app rather than the website and maybe that’s where I’m going wrong. My feed and notifications page never update, even when I get notifications and emails that there has been activity. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled. Just seems to be how the app is.
Flickr gives me the opportunity to find great pictures I love , thank you Flickr.
In a world of constant information bombardment, it is hard to find good art, particularly photographic art, on the internet. While I do not have many followers on Flickr yet, I have been able to develop my skills and tastes as a film photographer through the great community on Flickr. Through comments by other photographers, I have been able to find areas where I could improve my overall composition skills and post processing skills. Not to mention, even with a free account the resolution of photos on Flickr is simply amazing compared to other platforms. And with a pro account, landscape photos are simply breathtaking in the way they are meant to be. As long as it stays as good as it currently is, I can’t see myself ever getting rid of this platform.
Far better than instygrandma Remember zukersux owns instajunk
For storing and showing off your BEST pictures, Flickr can’t be beat! It’s also a great way to share your photos with friends and family.
I enjoy Flickr to share my work and appreciate my Flickr friends that I have made there as well! I highly recommend Flickr for anyone into any form of photography! Hope to see you there!
Absolutely love it and the wide array of all the photographers work as the capture history, nature and by gone eras to look back on.
I’ve been using Flickr since 2007 and I’m glad it’s still around. I would have hated to have found a replacement. I’ve used it as a step up from storage, and not quite a gallery for my pictures. A sort of middle ground. I can store and show off a bit. The app has worked out well. When traveling I’ve found editing in LR mobile then uploading really easy. The social media aspect of it is maybe just enough. It hasn’t engaged me and it doesn’t ask me to. I sometimes dabble in groups and that’s nice. And it’s great to see other people’s work to get inspired. But it isn’t a battering ram for your attention. And I appreciate that. I think my only gripes with Flickr at the moment is realizing what it isn’t. There’s a lot of management and sorting options I would like. Photo stream is fine, making folders is alright. I’m still not sure how or why to use galleries. There’s additional or maybe more fluid ways of sorting and viewing my pictures, and others, that isn’t there. It would be cool to be able to have options for saving pictures almost as “rolls” of film. To be able to filter your own images by digital or film. Bw or color. Pictures shot on this “roll” but then also “concert pictures” or “portraits” and not have folders stack on top of each other. Even more ambitious it would be great to search everyone by metadata. Not just who shot with a camera but see who else shot 28mm at 8f 400iso flash fired. If you were trying to learn as a photographer and wanted to get into the nitty gritty it could help see what other people are doing
I’d love to use Flickr. But, I can’t share photos to Flickr. I don’t store my high end camera’s photos in my photo reel on my phone, nor do I want to. I store them on my cloud drive, or in Adobe Lightroom. Any time I try to share a photo from these apps to Flickr it just times out and kicks me back. This is such a fundamental aspect of using Flickr and I wonder if anyone is testing it and making sure it works. Which is a shame.
You need to enable the refusal of video uploads You need to enable controls that might impact your upscale of storage.
They deleted all of my photos except for 50 because they started charging for photo uploads. I had uploaded photos 10 yrs ago and apparently they changed the account to 50 free photos. Anything over 50 was deleted. Wow! Being on here so long I would have expected to be grandfathered in. Now I lost photos I had on this app taken over the last 20 years. Smdh
Sube tus mejores fotos y se parte de esta página para fotógrafos profesionales y aficionados.
I’m hoping you will enable the mail/messaging feature in the app as is on the website.
They stole my pics of dead family now they are strong arming me to gain access to. Do not put your precious photos here
I cannot access my photos from the last 10-11 years and I’ve never had issues up until now. I only see the last 50 photos uploaded. 5 stars once this big is fixed. Please and thank you. So many memories of my dog I always look back on and I do want to see them again
I have been trying for hours now to download my data. They have sent me multiple emails. I have over 20 emails saying my zip file is ready for download but that is a lie. Not one of those emails has a zip file or link. Not ONE!!!!! They are deliberately keeping me from downloading my data. From the reviews it looks like this is a common practice to force people to stay on this platform! If you can't download your data, you're not gonna leave because you don't wanna lose it right? So what's the best way to force you to continue to pay for a service you don't want but by keeping clients from downloading their data. This is a privacy issue and a lawsuit waiting to happen. Because this is my data, this is not Flickr data and I have a right to my data flicker does not own it, and Flickr cannot keep me from downloading it!!! And making me download every single video or photo one by one is how they are exploiting people. That is not access when you have hundreds and thousands of videos and photos and you gotta do each one individually??!!!!! no !!!There are some very serious legal issues going on with Flickr right now and I'm gonna have to seek legal council to see how I can get my data back!!!! You're not gonna keep my data and you're not gonna make me spend years downloading every single item one by one I'm not doing that! Shame on Flickr!!!
They will delete your stuff. And not even give a way to download your own pictures. Thieves
真难用
Good for photographers and those who want to learn about photography.
One morning I was uploading photos that I’ve taken. All of a sudden I’m logged out and can’t log back in. Account was fully deleted along with all my photos. I wasn’t breaking any rules, I was uploading photos from a vacation. Flickr has gone downhill!
